it EYES WIDE SHUT.
It has been edited. Originally U-she and I sang on it, but after a
conversation with Pascal Gabriel, we
decided to dump the vocals. Now on B2, you will find us singing. I'd
happily play along to the loop for days. I love the artwork by Angela.
All the sleeves are different, and the coloured centre pictures are very
beautiful.
On EYES OPEN2 (Binners Mix) there are guitars, which were also on the
original tapes, but also
dumped. I seem to always over record and then throw away so much work.
SKATING WITH THE GIRLS is obviously made for that cold pursuit. Headphones
on, and long slow
swishes along a frozen river. The track was never completed, but was
worked on hard for OH
VENUS. In fact, a very small section of it is on the CD for about 3
seconds.
We are about to play live again. This is what I love to do. Definitely
at 12 Bar in Soho on 2 September.
Small room. Big noise. Short set. Varied cast of musicians. I'm just
coming to grips with playing OH
VENUS music live, although it's been a fun time with Blixa Bargeld
at Mr Cave's recent Meltdown and
also the Barry Adamson All Stars show. These collaborations are what
music is all about.
