CATALOG DESCRIPTION:
The student will acquire an understanding of e-business principles and practices in the areas of marketing, operation, supply chain management, customer relationship management, e-law, security, and privacy.

COURSE TEXT: Electronic Commerce—A Managerial Perspective

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
Students will gain
competency in this innovative field, and in the techniques used by
professionals for a diverse aspects of eCommerce venture. At the end of the module, students will be
able:
¨ To successfully integrate the language of this subject into our vocabulary.
¨ To recognize the concerns relating to eCommerce and to develop informed responses and strategies with respect to these issues.
¨ To have an understanding of the technology requirements for a new eBusiness or for an existing business looking to enter eCommerce.
¨ To recognize the limits and constraints, as well as the potential, of current technology as it relates to eCommerce.
¨ To be able to analyze existing eBusinesses or eCommerce projects and recognize their strengths and weaknesses.
¨
To be familiar
with the eCommerce history and critical of the predictions of the visions for
the future.
¨
To be able to
develop a successful business proposal for new and expanding eCommerce
projects.
¨
To be familiar
with recent changes in legislation surrounding eCommerce.
¨
To be able to
develop recommendations for improvement of existing eCommerce products or
systems.
¨
To successfully
view eCommerce from the eyes of the customer while meeting the needs of the
business.
¨
To develop an
ethical approach for creating, maintaining and utilizing new and existing
eCommerce projects.

Required Experience:
· Library research project requiring review of E-Business literature, minimum of nine articles, to improve written communication skills, oral communication skills and to orient the student to IS resources

GENERAL COURSE
INFORMATION AND COURSE POLICIES:
COURSE STRUCTURE:
This course is a combination of lectures, class discussion, case studies, and outside reading assignments. Maximum use will be made of the text and contemporary material. Completion of problem/case assignments is critical to the understanding of the course material.

ATTENDANCE &
CLASS POLICY:
· Students are expected to attend all classes
· If you do not attend class, the burden is on you to be aware of all assignments and tests.
· You are expected to be in the classroom promptly at or prior to the start of class. Late arrivals are disruptive to the students and the professor. Please let me know if you know in advance that you are running late.
· Please turn off ALL cellular phones or other devices. If you have a need for these devices during class time, please speak with the professor prior to class. DO NOT engage in any conversation in the classroom on a cellular phone unless it is an ABSOLUTE emergency!
MIS 200 – Management of Information Systems
Students Needing Academic Accomadations:
