International
Correspondents Meet with Political Science and History Students (February
2005) NPR's wartime correspondent in Iraq, Deborah Amos, and the BBC's
Rick Davis visited
High Point
University
as Woodrow Wilson Fellows during the week of February 13. The
journalists met with several introductory political science classes,
dined several times with the department's students and faculty, and
gave a series of public talks on the media's role in American
politics, the US-Iraq War, and the prospects of democracy in the
Middle East
. Amos led discussions on the US invasion of Iraq in Dr. Mark
Setzler's International Relations and US Foreign Policy
classes as well as Dr. Larry Simpson's seminar on Middle Eastern
History. Visits by Woodrow Wilson Fellows are an annual event at High
Point University.
