History
Professor Named Fellow; Attends Workshop on Terrorism in Israel
(June 2005).
George
L. Simpson, Jr., Professor of History, received a fellowship to
study terrorism and its impacts on democratic societies from the
Foundation for the Defense of Democracies. The foundation is a
non-profit organization based in Washington, DC that conducts research
and education on the war on terrorism. Dr. Simpson's award included an
intensive ten-day course in Israel. Taught in conjunction with Tel
Aviv University, the course was located both in the classroom and the
field and featured lectures by academics, diplomats, military and
intelligence officials, and politicians from Israel, Jordan, India,
Turkey, and the United States.
