Here are some tools that I occasionally use to generate images for exams, PowerPoint slides, etc. Use a free screen capture tool to capture and crop the screen. I use IrfanView to capture the screen and crop it. I then cut and paste the images into PowerPoint or save them as gifs or jpegs for inclusion in LaTeX or HTML documents.
