Introduction

Rotation -- Unwinding Wheel

An object is attached to a string which is wrapped around a solid wheel. The mass of the object is 1.0 kg and the mass of the wheel is 1.33 kg. Mechanical energy of the system is conserved.

Use conservation of energy to find the speed of the object when it hits the floor. Use the angular velocity vs. time graph to check your answer.
